1000th Unit Of Tata Nexon EV Comes Out From Pune Manufacturing Plant
According to the recent industry reports domestic carmaker Tata Motors has rolled the 1,000th unit of the Nexon EV on Tuesday, August 18, 2020, from its manufacturing plant in Pune. The electronic version of the compact SUV Nexon was launched almost six-months back and is regarded as one of the affordable compact SUVs in the country equipped with some remarkable features.
It would be interesting to know that Nexon EV has emerged as a promising product for the Tata Motors, while its another offering in the electric vehicle segment the compact sedan Tigor is still struggling to make its place among the customers. However, at present, the Tigor is being used by government departments to encourage electric mobility within the country. The main reasons which in the first instance seem responsible for this achievement are an average of 312 kilometers after a single charge and the facility of subscription introduced by the Tata Motors especially for the customers who prefer for ‘usership’ instead of ownership.
Commenting on the achievement Mr. Shailesh Chandra, President – Passenger Vehicle Business, Tata Motors Ltd. said, “Acceptance of EVs is accelerating fast, and we are seeing growing interest in it from all parts of the country. The rollout of the 1000th Nexon EV in a short period, despite the challenges of Covid-19, reflects the rising interest of personal segment buyers in EVs.” Moving ahead Mr. Chandra also said that, “Tata Motors will continue to innovate and develop comprehensive sustainable mobility solutions meeting global standards. EVs are the future and as the industry leader, we are committed to making them desirable and a mainstream choice for the customers.”
At present, the Tata Nexon EV is available with three color options and offered with an eight years/1.6 lakh kilometer warranty on battery and motors. It also comes with 60 minutes of fast charging options.
