Chevrolet Beat Activ Concept Showcased at 2016 LA Auto Show
U.S. based car maker General Motors has finally the production edition of Beat hatchback to be christened as Chevrolet Beat Activ during the ongoing 2016 LA Auto Show. In International mark the hatchback will be sold as generation next Spark hatchback. According to reports the American car maker is planning to launch the same hatchback in Indian car market sometimes during 2017 rather than launching the proposed MPV Spin. From the images of Beat Activ available at different platform it can be witnessed that the hatchback without any second thoughts carries rugged looks that suits best for road conditions prevailing in India.
The Beat Activ version that is designed for U.S car market will be empowered with 1.4 litre gasoline engine that generates the power of 96 bhp and torque of 127Nm. The India bound trim is speculated to be offered with existing engine configuration of 1.2 litre petrol and 1.0 litre diesel engine options. It is expected to be priced in range between Rs 5 lakh and Rs. 9 lakh (ex-showroom). The production edition of Chevrolet Beat Activ continues same style and design philosophy that was showcased in its conceptual version during Indian Auto Expo 2016. The front fascia adorns sweptback headlamps, enlarged muscular front bumper integrates large round shaped fog lamps with chrome surroundings, thick black slat on hexagonal grille with Chevrolet’s Signature dual grille. At the beneath of front of bumper you will find plastic cladding and faux skid plate. The side profile receives sporty alloy wheels, new ORVMs and sharp lines below the shoulder line. The rear portion receives newly developed tail lamp with LED lights, plastic cladding over rear bumper with skid plates and reflectors.
On the interior front it will be customized with use of black and silver color scheme, new dashboard, steering wheel, power windows, rear view camera, remote keyless entry, cruise control as standard feature, new seven inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports to both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Integration.
