Domestic Sales of Maruti Suzuki Records Growth Of 22 Percent

According to recent sales statistics revealed by the country’s leading car manufacturing company Maruti Suzuki India Limited, it has sold out 1,24,624 units of different vehicles under its flagship during August 2020. This sales figure is 15.3% more than the sales made by the company in July 2020, and 17.1% higher than August 2019. It is reported that the company sold out 1,15,325 units in the domestic market and 1,379 for different OEMs. Along with this, the company exported 7,290 units during August 2020, this however is 15.3 lesser than the units sold during the same period last year.
Interestingly, compared to the improvement in domestic sales as compared to the same period last year, the company has witnessed an encouraging growth of 21.7%.  However, unfortunately, the company has recorded a huge decline of 50.1% in sales, when compared to sales recorded during the period from April to August 2019.
On the further analysis of the data, it is seen that entry-level cars and hatchbacks have played an incredible role in increasing the sales of the Indo-Japanese carmaker by recording the growth of 94.7% for the same period in 2019. These segments consist of cars like Alto and S-Presso. Speaking about the mid-sized segment cars, the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz recorded a decline of 23.4%, which is believed due to declining sales of the sedans in India. During August 2020 the company sold out 1,223 units of Ciaz as compared to 1,596 units of Ciaz sold during the same period last year. This is 23.4 percent less than compared to its sales this month.
Moving towards the utility vehicle segment, the company recorded an overall growth of 13.5 percent during August 2020. This included the combined sales of Ertiga, S-Cross, Vitara Brezza, Gypsy, and XL6. The light commercial segment of the company also recorded the growth of 47.4 percent by selling 2,292 units during August 2020 as compared to 1,555 units sold in July 2020. In short, the Indo-Japanese has recorded an overall growth of 20.2 percent in August 2020 by selling 1,16, 704 units in August 2020 as compared to 97,061 units sold in August 2019.
