HCIL Confirms The Launch Of 2020 City In July
Honda Cars India Limited, the Indian alliance of Japanese carmaker Honda Motors has confirmed to launch the fifth generation of its best selling sedan City in the Indian car market during July this year. In its new avatar, the 2020 Honda City will be developed on completely the new front-wheel-drive platform, which makes it lighter and stronger than its existing version. Recently, the Japanese carmaker revealed some of its features offered on the exterior and interior fronts, along with the engine specifications.
Underhood, the new Honda City will receive the power from BS-VI compliant 1.5-liter –VTEC VVT petrol engine generating the power of 121 bhp and the torque of 145 Nm. It is mated with a six-speed manual and a seven-speed CVT with paddle shifters. The diesel variant is empowered with a 1.5-liter i-DTEC diesel engine, generating the same power of 99 bhp and the torque of 200Nm. It is mated with a six-speed manual gearbox system.
Speaking about the features offered in the new City, it is the first car in India that will come with Alexa remote feature. Other features include the Telematics Control Unit that supports 32 connectivity features including vehicle position, auto crash notification & emergency assistance, security alert, door lock status, stolen vehicle tracking system, and many more. Inside, the cabin it will receive an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and Weblink. Additional features include a seven-inch HD full-color TFT screen, one-touch electric sunroof, all 4 power windows, automatic headlight, engine start-stop button, and many more.
On the safety front, it will be equipped with six airbags, hill start assist system, Honda LaneWatch camera, reverse camera, agile hill start, ABS+EBD, and a few more.
