ICML Sonalika to launch a global sedan by 2012
International Cars and Motors Limited (ICML) is planning to launch a global sedan, which will compete in the D segment of sedans worldwide. Pininfarina is designing the global sedan by International Cars and Motors Limited, and the car is expected to be launched by the middle of the 2012.
The car is expected to be launched with a price tag of Rs. 15 lakh and will compete against the likes of Skoda Laura and the overly popular Toyota Corolla Altis. ICML has more plans lined up in the pipes. The company is also making plans for a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV), coming in a price range of INR 8 lakhs to INR 10 lakhs.
LD Mittal, Chairman of the Sonalika Group, said that the company is in process of building a global sedan and is expecting to launch it by the middle of 2012. He added that the car will come with all the features and luxury of any European luxury car, yet it will be priced almost half of them. He further added that with the launch of the proposed global sedan, the company may set up a new brand all together in the market.
