India made Volkswagen Vento scores 5 star rating in Latin NCAP test
News regarding Volkswagen Vento succeeding in receiving 5 Star in NCAP safety test might bring a sort of relaxing breath to German luxurious car maker Volkswagen which is endeavoring to come out from the Dieselgate issue. It is reported that manufactured in India for Latin American countries has succeeded in scoring 5 out of 5 in recent Latin NCAP ratings. The major safety features offered in sedan include front dual airbags, ABS, ISOFIX anchorages, front seat belt tensioners and seat belt reminder.
Available with three engine options of 1.6 litre MPI petrol, 1.2 litre TSI petrol, and 1.5 litre TDI diesel engine in both petrol and diesel variants boosting the same power of 103.5 bhp with varied torque of 153Nm, 175Nm and 250Nm respectively. The Vento sedan succeeded in scoring 14.73 points out of 17 pints for adult safety measures followed by 34.16 score from 49 for child safety. The five star rating is given to those cars which are equipped impact bars mounted on side profiles and which are considered as standard for safety. It would be interested to learn that along with 5 star rating for clearing NCAP test Vento also succeeded in receiving “Stable Certification” for its entire body.
