India's Shift To EV May Suffer Lack of Expertise
India's automotive industry is facing a growing shortage of skilled workers as the transition toward electric vehicles (EVs) accelerates. Industry experts warn that the lack of job-ready talent, particularly in specialized areas such as battery technology, electronics, automation, and EV manufacturing, could affect production targets and future expansion plans.
While the overall workforce available to the automotive sector remains substantial, companies across the supply chain are struggling to find workers with the technical expertise required for next-generation vehicle production. The challenge is especially significant for auto component manufacturers, who are increasingly adapting their operations to support EV development.

The rapid growth of electric mobility has created demand for new skills that differ considerably from those used in conventional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle manufacturing.
