Kia Sorento Hybrid SUV Teased; Bookings Now Open

Kia has officially teased the Sorento Hybrid ahead of its much-anticipated India debut, signalling the brand's entry into the country's growing hybrid SUV segment. The premium three-row SUV is expected to arrive during the festive season, with select dealerships already accepting unofficial pre-bookings ahead of the official launch. The Sorento Hybrid will become Kia's first hybrid SUV in the Indian market, marking a significant milestone in the company's electrification strategy. Kia has already announced plans to expand its portfolio of hybrid and electric vehicles in India over the coming years, and the Sorento is expected to lead this transition in the premium SUV category.

Premium SUV with Modern Design

The teaser images reveal Kia's latest design philosophy, featuring a bold front fascia, vertically stacked LED headlamps, a redesigned grille, and a more rugged yet premium appearance. The SUV is also expected to receive updated alloy wheels, connected LED tail lamps, and refreshed styling elements that align with Kia's global design language.
Inside, the Sorento Hybrid is likely to offer a feature-rich cabin with a large panoramic display, premium upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, wireless smartphone connectivity, ventilated seats, multi-zone climate control, and an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS). As a three-row SUV, it is expected to provide comfortable seating for six or seven occupants.

Although Kia India has not yet disclosed the official technical specifications, the Sorento Hybrid is expected to use the globally available 1.6-litre turbo-petrol hybrid powertrain paired with an electric motor. This setup is designed to deliver an excellent balance of performance and fuel efficiency while reducing emissions compared to conventional petrol-powered SUVs. The hybrid powertrain will appeal to buyers seeking the practicality of a large family SUV without the higher running costs typically associated with bigger petrol vehicles.

Positioned in the Premium SUV Segment

Once launched, the Kia Sorento Hybrid is expected to compete with premium three-row SUVs available in India while offering hybrid technology as a key differentiator. The model will further strengthen Kia's premium product portfolio alongside its existing SUV lineup and cater to customers looking for advanced technology, spacious interiors, and improved fuel efficiency. With bookings already commencing at select dealerships and the official launch expected around September–October 2026, the Sorento Hybrid is likely to become one of Kia's most significant launches this year.
