Škoda Plans New Compact Vehicles for India with Partnership of Tata Motors
Škoda has its presence in the Indian car market since November 2001 and launched the Octavia as its first domestically built vehicle in the country. Now, the company is planning to launch few more vehicles for a bigger success in the compact car segment with its parent Volkswagen's partnership with the Tata Motors. For the comeback, Škoda will focus on the entry-level sedan, mini-SUV and high-volume small car.
As per the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by Volkswagen with the Tata Motors in March 2017, they will share the technology in its upcoming vehicles for growth opportunity. In this joint development, Škoda will lead the project.
For the last few years, Škoda is not able to deliver the best service to its customers so now, it will use the Advanced Modular Plateform (AMP) in its fourth-coming vehicles for a great success (according to the sources). Yes, AMP is the highly flexible platform of the Tata Motors, which has the ability to produce variety of vehicles even in the affordable budget.
The Škoda India have not declared any name of its upcoming cars in India, but it is in rumor that these cars will make the debut in Indian car market by the 2019. According to the demand of car lovers, the mini-SUVs from Škoda will land likely to the currently available Maruti Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Creta, small car as the Tata Tiago and compact sedan as the Maruti Swift Dzire, All New Hyundai Xcent and Ford Aspire.
