Mahindra XUV700 Facelift To Launch As XUV 7XO In 2026
The domestic carmaker Mahindra & Mahindra is ready to begin the new year 2026 dynamically by launching the facelift version of its 7-seater SUV XUV700. In its new avatar, the SUV will be named 7XO. It is reported that the carmaker has already trademarked the name, following the same pattern as followed in the facelift of compact SUV XUV300. The refreshed XUV700, aka XUV 7XO, will be launched in 2026.
The production of the XUV700 facelift will commence in December 2025, which means that the existing version of XUV700 will remain on sale only until November 2025. The updated model is expected to come with a more premium appearance, enhanced design elements and modern styling to strengthen its position in the rapidly expanding SUV market.
The 2026 XUV 7XO is expected to receive a redesigned exterior with a bold new front grille, updated LED headlamps and fresh DRLs. These updates are expected to give the SUV a sharper, more contemporary look strictly according to Mahindra’s latest design philosophy.
Inside the cabin, the upcoming XUV 7XO will receive contemporary features, including a triple-screen dashboard setup, outsourced from XEV 9e. A refreshed interior theme, redesigned door panels, and an upgraded premium audio system aim to deliver a more luxurious and high-tech experience.
As far as mechanical changes are concerned, Mahindra is expected to retain the current engine options. The XUV 7XO will likely continue with the 2-litre turbo petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines, paired with 6-speed manual and automatic gearboxes. The diesel automatic variant is also expected to retain its all-wheel-drive option, as the existing powertrains already offer strong performance.
Speaking about the price, due to the integration of premium features, the upcoming XUV 7XO is expected to be priced higher than the XUV700. Once launched in 2026, the model will continue to rival the Mahindra Scorpio N, Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar and MG Hector Plus.
