Mahindra XUV700 Sales Cross 3 Lakh Units in India
The domestic carmaker Mahindra & Mahindra has announced a major milestone for its flagship SUV, the XUV700. According to a statement revealed by the automaker, the SUV has achieved the milestone of crossing the 3 lakh unit mark in the Indian market. The SUV was launched in 2021 and since its inception, it has continued to enjoy strong demand, despite the absence of a facelift. Earlier in March this year, the automaker had celebrated the 2.5 lakh sales milestone with customer offers. However, this time, the company has not made such announcements, indicating the sustained organic popularity of the model.
Facelift on the Horizon
According to reports the carmaker is now working on launching the first-ever facelift for the XUV700. The spy images of the facelift version undergoing the test drives have surfaced on Indian roads, suggesting active development. The refreshed model is expected to be launched in early 2026.
What to Expect: Exterior and Interior Enhancements
Reports suggest that the facelift XUV700 will undergo cosmetic changes and continue with the existing engine configurations. On the exterior front, the SUV is expected to sport:
• New circular LED headlamps with updated DRLs
• A redesigned front grille featuring slanted vertical slats
• Revised front bumper styling
• Subtle changes to the rear bumper and addition of a sleek LED light bar
• Likely updates to alloy wheel designs
Inside the cabin, the XUV700 will receive major technical updates, mostly outsourced from Mahindra’s upcoming electric offering, the XUV.e9. The refreshed SUV is expected to get a triple-screen layout—a driver’s display, a central infotainment system, and a separate passenger touchscreen.
Other expected upgrades include:
• A digital key system
• Auto-parking capabilities
• A revamped Harman Kardon sound system with Dolby Atmos
No Mechanical Changes
The SUV will retain its current engine lineup:
• 2.0-litre turbo petrol (approx. 197 bhp, 380 Nm)
• 2.2-litre diesel (182 bhp, 420–450 Nm based on transmission)
Transmission options remain the same, with 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearboxes. AWD variants are also expected to continue. While there has been speculation about a possible plug-in hybrid version, it is unlikely to be part of this update.
Rebranding and Pricing
Reports suggest Mahindra may rebrand the facelifted model as the XUV7XO, although the company has not confirmed this. As the facelift version will mainly undergo cosmetic changes, it is believed that there will be no major hike in the prices. The facelift signals Mahindra’s intent to keep the XUV700 competitive in the fast-evolving SUV segment—without reinventing a formula that continues to deliver strong sales performance.
