Maruti Suzuki Introduces S-CNG Version In Dzire
The Indo-Japanese carmaker Maruti Suzuki India Limited has introduced the S-CNG variant in its best selling compact sedan Dzire. The S-CNG is launched in the Indian car market with a price tag ranging from Rs 8.14 lakh to Rs 8.82 lakh (ex-showroom price, New Delhi). The S-CNG trim will be introduced in VXI and ZXI trims. Dzire S-CNG is the first vehicle that comes with the company fitted kit and will be available for private buyers. Earlier the company was offering with kit only to the Tour S variant, which was available only for fleet operators.
Under the hood, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire S-CNG will receive the same 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine, that churns the power of 88.5 bhp and the torque of 113 Nm. However, the S-CNG variant will develop a power of 76 bhp and a torque of 98.5Nm. The transmission duties will be performed by a five-speed manual gearbox system. According to company sources, it will deliver an average of 31.12 km/kg.
Addressing the launch event of Dzire S-CNG, Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Director, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India, said, "With transformative technology like the S-CNG, more and more customers are actively looking to switch to S-CNG vehicles to fulfil their mobility requirements. Today, we have the largest portfolio of 9 green S-CNG vehicles. With low running costs and high fuel efficiency of S-CNG vehicles, their demand has tremendously gone up as we have witnessed a 19 per cent CAGR increase in our S-CNG sales in the past five years. This is a testimony that customers are increasingly embracing technologically advanced, eco-friendly, factory-fitted and safe Maruti Suzuki S-CNG vehicles."
According to sources of MSIL, the powertrain and the suspension system of the S-CNG variant will offer improved engine performance, fuel efficiency, and excellent safety performance. Speaking about the features available in the new S-CNG Dzire, it will have dual interdependent Electronic Control Units (ECU) followed by an injection system to retain an air-fuel ratio. As far as other features are concerned, it will continue with the same features as available in the standard versions of VXI and ZXI variants. An interesting fact associated with the new S-CNG Dzire is that it is also available on a monthly subscription of Rs 16,999.
