Maruti Suzuki Recalls 10K Units of Celerio, Ignis And Wagon R
Indo-Japanese carmaker Maruti Suzuki India Limited has recalled 9,925 units of Celerio, Ignis, and Wagon R to rectify the issue in the rear brake assembly pin. According to a regulatory filing from the company, it is notified that the defective units of these models were manufactured between August 3, 2022, and September 1, 2022. In the filing submitted by the company in the BSE, it is mentioned that there are chances of defects in the rear brake assembly pin (Part). This part may break and develop irritating sounds while driving. As an impact of this, there are chances of a decline in the performance of the braking system.
Keeping the safety and security of its customers in concern, the company has decided to recall the units of these vehicles, manufactured between August 2022 and September 2022. According to the sources of the company, in case of any defect found in these units during the inspection, it will replace the defective part free of cost. For this, the company has started dispatching the components to its authorised workshops. These workshops will contact the buyers to bring their vehicles for inspection to their centres.
In a statement by the company, “Necessary repair, if required, will be undertaken post inspection”. Maruti Suzuki India holds 40% of the market share in the Indian car market because of its dominance in the small cars segment.
