Maruti Swift Sports and Hybrid version at 2012 Auto Expo
At the 2012 Delhi Expo, Maruti Suzuki India will showcase exclusive two sides of its same vehicle in the form of Maruti Swift Sports and futuristic Maruti Swift Hybrid. These two versions will be the most looked-for after company’s first MPV Maruti Ertiga. The Sports edition is raring to go, as it now provides more active stance with its three-door design, powerful headlamps and twin-exhaust pipe at rear along with broader alloys. The green electric vehicle Maruti Swift Hybrid will be presented in a concept form with a petrol-electric combo, also known as Swift EV Hybrid. The concept is largely based on the third generation of Maruti Swift that is available in India.
The 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show uncovered Maruti Swift Sports is loaded with a revived engine that is more fuel economical and green as compared to the current vehicle. The 17-inch alloy compact hatch boasts M16A engine produces maximum power of around 136 PS at 6900 rpm combined with 160 Nm of maximum torque at 4400 rpm and greener part is that it generates 147 grams of less carbon-dioxide every kilometer. The power-train is mated to a six speed manual transmission.
The Maruti Swift EV concept car will get power from a small 0.6L engine that yields approximately 54 bhp with petrol engine and with the lithium-ion powered electric batteries it produces around 74 bhp. There are new LED headlamps at front along with revamped cornering tail lamps at rear of the vehicle. The Maruti Swift Hybrid is expected to launch in 2013 in Japanese auto sector, for India it’s a far sighted approach. But the Sports version will soon hit the India roads.
