Maruti Swift upgraded to fight its rivals
From the time Maruti Swift has come into the market it has been one of the best selling compact car’s and seeing the records it has set it looks like the new upgraded Maruti Swift is going to give the other competitors a tough time. Maruti Swift’s sales have only hiked from the time it released in the summer of 2005 selling about 55,000 units in 2005-2006 to 1.5 lakh units in 2010-2011.
Even though all Maruti Swift has found is only success from the time it released it has been in a tough competition with various known competitors like Ford, Toyota, GM, Volkswagen, Honda and Nissan all looking to take Maruti Swift’s place in the market.
Rao, managing executive officer (engineering), MSIL said that the new Maruti Swift will be the same car with a larger interior space and with extraordinary interiors.
The new Maruti Swift was launched in developed markets like Japan and Europe but its Indian release was held by the company probably just to look at what the other companies have to offer in the competition.
Taking Maruti Eeco out the last major car released by Maruti Suzuki was Ritz in 2009 also the largest selling car company of India Maruti Suzuki doesn’t have a long list of line up’s that can cover up for the loss if the car doesn’t sell in the market or doesn’t do well. This is a major setback for a company like Maruti which holds the Market as the champion of small cars. Hence Maruti will be well aware of this fact and will know that they cannot go wrong with its biggest release the new Maruti Swift.
Some of the popular hatchback models in the Indian auto market are Toyota Etios Liva, Ford Figo, Hyundai i10, Chevrolet Beat and Volkswagen Polo. Apart from these popular models, cars going to hit the Indian roads this year are Chevrolet Beat Diesel, Maruti Cervo and Honda Brio.
