New Land Rover Freelander 2 revealed

The 2013 Land Rover Freelander 2 has been officially revealed and has got a serious makeover this time. All the more, making it more charming and responsive is the fact that the new Freelander 2 has inherited the engine and some equipments from the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque. India had the current generation Freelander 2 and its price starts at Rs 34.40 lakh and is a close rival of BMW X1, Audi Q3 and Volvo XC60. The new model is expected to be launched in India early next year and the price is expected to land somewhere below the current price. The India specifications of the new Freelander 2 could be different.

A hurried look at the new Freelander 2 does not reveal the changes made to the car as there are subtle differences in the styling and the features. But a close look at the skin outside and the features inside reveal that this is the most significant upgrade of the car. Among the new features are new head lamps and tail lamps that are rather customary with any upgrade. There is more use of LED technology that not only saves energy but is also durable and all long lasting. The daytime running lights have also found a place and the 17 inch alloys seem to match perfectly with the stature of the car. There are some new shades that have also been introduced on the new Freelander 2.

On the inside, the car has a more clean design and now sports a voice controlled infotainment system. The new engine that the new Land Rover car has derived from LR Range Rover Evoque is the four cylinder turbocharged GTDi engine. In India the Freelander 2 is currently available in 2179cc diesel engine powered variants. In addition to the comfort of driving, the new engine also improves the performance of the car both in terms of mileage as well as in terms of maneuverability.
