Premier Rio CRDi4 goes on sale tomorrow, price Rs 6.7 lakh
Finally, the 1.3 L multijet engine powered Premier Rio will be available across some Premier dealerships starting tomorrow. Notably, the new engine in Rio has been sourced from Fiat India and it is a diesel engine which makes the SUV BS4 compliant besides giving it a trust factor. The new model called Premier Rio CRDi4 will be available for sale at a price starting Rs 6.7 lakh and this makes this car affordable than the recently launched Renault Duster that starts at Rs 7.99 lakh for the diesel model. Also, being a tried and tested engine by some of the best car makers including Maruti and Tata, the engine use in Rio will rip off the tag of being a car with technical issues.

Significantly, as per the general people were not buying Premier Rio in large number even when it has the least price starting at Rs 4.90 lakh for the petrol model due to two reasons. First is the brand and second is that it has reportedly technical issues. Also, being a Chinese car people do not prefer it over the India made car due to expensive parts and high maintenance. Now that the Rio has 1.3 L Fiat sourced engine, it will not only step up its prospects over Duster and other upcoming SUVs namely, Maruti XA Alpha and Ford EcoSport but will also help build the trust in the car. The Rio CRDi returns a mileage of 19 kmpl and will be available in four colors.

The new Rio CRDi4 will be available at select dealers and will soon be made available at all the 55 dealers. Premier is also thinking of increasing the dealerships by 100 by the end of this year and there will also be over 200 service stations for the Rio. All these efforts by the car maker are expected to help build the trust as well as increase the brand value and most importantly the tag of being an unreliable car will be stripped off the Rio as it has the 1.3 L multijet engine under hood.
