Renault Launches Triber MPV With Turbo-Engine
Renault has expanded the Triber lineup in India with a new turbo-petrol version, giving the popular seven-seater MPV a significant performance upgrade. The new Renault Triber Turbo gets a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder TCe turbo-petrol engine that produces 100 hp and 180 Nm of peak torque. It comes paired with a five-speed manual gearbox. The new turbocharged version is available in two variants, with prices ranging from Rs 7.84 lakh to Rs 8.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The Evolution variant is priced at Rs 7.84 lakh, while the top-spec Emotion trim costs Rs 8.99 lakh. This makes the turbo version more than Rs 2 lakh more expensive than the standard Triber, which starts at Rs 5.80 lakh.

More Power And Torque
The biggest change comes under the bonnet. While the regular Triber's 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine produces 72 hp and 96 Nm, the new turbo engine raises these figures to 100 hp and 180 Nm. The engine is related to the turbo-petrol unit used in Renault's Kiger and Duster, although it has been tuned specifically for the Triber. Renault claims the Triber Turbo can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 10.8 seconds. The company also claims a fuel efficiency figure of 21 km/l, which is slightly higher than the 19.76 km/l claimed for the naturally aspirated petrol-manual version.
Design Remains Mostly Unchanged
In terms of styling, the turbo version remains largely similar to the standard Triber. The most noticeable exterior difference is the 'Turbo' badge at the rear. It continues to use Renault's RGEP architecture and retains the same 2,636 mm wheelbase. The Triber continues to be an important model for Renault India and accounts for a substantial share of the company's monthly sales. The MPV has also crossed the two-lakh cumulative sales mark in the Indian market.
With the new turbo-petrol engine, Renault is offering buyers a more powerful Triber while retaining its seven-seat configuration and familiar design.
