Renault Nissan India to ramp up production through third shift

Renault Nissan, the Franco-Japanese car manufacturer is soon to trigger the third shift at their Oragadam plant. The major reason behind the decision is to ramp up the production process of the factory. The news was made public by the company’s top official on Wednesday.

As per the statements made by Managing Director Marc Nassif , the manufacturing  facility of the company is running in two shift at present and the company will soon introduce the third one to improve the output. He said that the decision will come in action within a few weeks. He commented that the additional shift will push up the plant capacity to two lakh units.
 
The company’s officials have said that the production facility is flexible in nature. This manufacturing unit is dedicated for the production of both Nissan and Renault car models. As per statement given by Nassif, the new shift will improve the current capacity of two lakh units to straight four lakh units in future. 
 
Renault officials were busy in the launch of their high aspirated car model, Renault Fluence. The company is soon to open its 13th showroom in Tamil Nadu market with 14th being in Pune
 
Some of the popular hatchback models in the Indian auto market are Ford Figo, Maruti SwiftHyundai i10, Chevrolet Beat and Volkswagen Polo. Apart from these popular models, cars going to hit the Indian roads this year are Toyota Etios Liva, Maruti Cervo and New Ford Fiesta.
