Skoda Rapid to undergo cosmetic changes
After making various remarkable changes in its existing saloon sedans Octavia and Superb, and unveiling facelift Yeti hatchback during the Indian Auto Expo 2014, Czech car maker Skoda has turned its eyes on its another sedan Rapid. It is reported that the car maker is going to make major changes in Rapid which will be according to requirements of current scenario. The facelift Rapid would be launched by the end of this year.
As far as major changes that will be introduced in facelift Rapid are concerned it is speculated that company will continue the existing engine configurations in both petrol and diesel disguises. The petrol version will continue the same 1.6 litre petrol engine and diesel will be equipped with existing 1.6 litre diesel engine. Both the variants will be coated with five speed manual gearbox which will forward power to front wheels. Industry experts also believe that as an impact of growing market of automatic version company may also offer facelift Rapid in automatic variant which would be equipped with 1.2 litre turbocharged engine with 7 speed DSG transmission system.
Talking about the cosmetic changes although nothing has been so far revealed by company, but it is speculated that these changes will replicate the looks of Skoda vehicles. It is speculated to receive newly designed bumpers, new bonnet and headlights. It is also anticipated that Skoda may offer facelift Rapid with high price due to enhanced features.
