Skoda Reveals 2021 Kodiaq In The International Market
Czech carmaker Skoda has revealed the facelift version of the compact SUV Kodiaq in the global market. The first generation of Kodiaq was launched back in 2016 in the international car market and made its debut in the Indian car market in 2017. Since its launch, the SUV has received lots of updates including the introduction of new versions and editions, but it did not receive any cosmetic change. It is after four years that it is undergone cosmetic updates which help in refreshing its looks and design. These changes are also introduced in its top-end variant RS which is believed to be launched in India also sometimes during this year.
To begin with mechanical changes the Czech carmaker has removed the diesel variant from its line-up and now Kodiaq comes equipped with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder TSI petrol and 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine options. The former produces the power of 190 bhp while the latter generates the power of 148 bhp. It is believed that in India the company will launch the former version with an all-wheel-drive feature. As far as the 1.5-litre petrol TSI version is concerned nothing has been confirmed so far by the carmaker. The Skoda Kodiaq RS version will be equipped with a 2.0-litre TSI engine outsourced from RS Octavia. This engine generates the power of 245 bhp and mated with a seven-speed DSG transmission system.
Inside the cabin, it receives minimal changes including the option of ergonomic seats covered in perforated leather. Other changes include a two-spoke steering wheel, LED ambient lighting, a Canton sound system with ten speakers along with a sub-woofer mounted on the trunk. Apart from these updates it also receives the new 9.2-inch touchscreen and a new 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.
On the exterior front, it receives a new grille to make it look different from its existing version. Other changes includes revamped front fascia, slim headlights with an option of LED lights, new front bumper and roof-mounted spoiler. The alloy wheels are offered in range from 17 to 20 inches according to the variant purchased by the buyer. The RS variant however, receives the large 20-inch polished alloy wheels with a metallic black garnish.
