Tata Motors global sales increased by 11 percent in May
Global sales of Tata Motors shoot up by 11pc in the fifth month with 88,251 units propelled primarily by Land Rover and commercial means of transport while on the other hand luxury class from Jaguar Land Rover witnessed a 17 % hike from previous year with its sales at 22,296 units.
Disappointingly 18% fall off was noticed in the sale of luxury sedans of Jaguar which was 4,221 units last month while on a more contended scene, there was a rise in the sales of units of Land Rover to 18,075 units marking a 305 growth.
Tata Motors prospected a rise of 2% from the previous year in the sales of passenger vehicles with 44,181 units being sold in May this year and 20% increase to 44,070 units of sales of commercial mode of transport
In the sector of commercial vehicles, Tata, Tata Daewoo and Hispano Carrocera are included in the sales of the Tata Motors Group besides Tata passenger vehicles and brands of Jaguar and Land Rover.
Some of the popular hatchback models in the Indian auto market are Ford Figo, Maruti Swift, Hyundai i10, Chevrolet Beat and Volkswagen Polo. Apart from these popular models, cars going to hit the Indian roads this year are Toyota Etios Liva, Maruti Cervo and New Ford Fiesta.
