Tata Motors to Launch H2X EV in India along with Altroz EV
From some time, Tata Motors is working on bringing up new products and a few 2019 hits have been showcased in Geneva Motor Show 2019. In this show, the company has showcased a total of five vehicles at the motor show inclusive of H2X, Altroz, Altroz EV, Buzzard and the Buzzard Sport etc. Among all these models, H2X concept which is frequently also called as micro SUV. Now Tata has confirmed that they will soon be launching the electric version of H2X SUV in India.
It will further be joining the Tiago EV, Tigor EV and upcoming Altroz EV in Tata’s EV lineup upon being launched. During an interview with Economic Times, Guenter Butschek, Managing director, Tata, said that the company is committed to electric vehicles and wants to lead the evolution in this segment. He further added, “We have ensured that future architectures Alpha and Omega both are future-protected for EVs. Apart from working on higher range of Tigor and Tiago EV, our first two offerings on the Alpha architecture will have an EV option,.”
This new model of Tata Motors is built on Tata’s new ALFA platform and features IMPACT 2.0 design policy. The detailed description of Tata H2X is not yet out but it is expected that it will share its interiors with the Tiago and Tigor EV.
Currently, Tata Motors is in its form and is focusing on electronic vehicles that possess a capacity to drive 200-230 kms per charge that further enhances the practical usage of the car. The company is also working on many other solutions too, which will further be an integral part of the electronic vehicles that it plants to sell. As per the sources, “By the time 2020 ends, Tata will have as many as 4 EVs in its model lineup including the likes of the Tiago EV, H2X EV, Tigor EV, and the Altroz EV.” All these EVs will be ranged below Rupees 15 lakh, being topped by Altroz EV.
Also known as Hornbill EV, the H2X EV will be soon launched in the Indian markets with upcoming Mahindra e-KUV (will be launched in coming months). As per the current records, Tata is leading EV vehicle manufacturers in India and the company has plans to maintain lead in future.
