Tata Punch Beats Maruti Dzire in June 2026 Sales

Tata Punch has once again made it to the top of India's passenger car market, and the reason being it has been declared as the most sold car in the month of June 2026. In the two months before June, it used to be behind Maruti Dzire, but now it has performed exceptionally well during the month of June to come up as the most sold car. According to the figures of June 2026, Tata Punch has sold 20,920 units to secure the first position in the sales charts. It was closely followed by Maruti Dzire at the second position, which has sold 20,435 units. Tata Punch has achieved the success because of its good performance in the segments of petrol, CNG, and electric variants. 
 
 
Maruti Suzuki has dominated the list with the sale of multiple models. Maruti Ertiga has taken the third position by securing 18,235 units in the sales list, and similarly, Maruti Brezza has grabbed the fourth position with 18,171 units of sales. Hyundai Creta completed the top five list with 17,716 units of sales. The rest of the spots for the top ten were taken up by hatchback, SUVs, and MPVs. Sixth on the list was Maruti Fronx with 16,950 cars followed by the Maruti WagonR which had 16,421 car sales. The Mahindra Scorpio family continued with its excellent showing in the sixth position with 15,981 cars sold, while the Tata Nexon came ninth selling 15,387 cars, and the Maruti Swift rounding off the top ten with 15,120 cars being delivered.
 
The trends in the month of June have seen a definite change in preferences from buyers as more people are preferring compact SUVs that offer higher seating positions, modern features, and practicality. The Tata Punch is especially favored because of the different powertrain combinations available – petrol, CNG, and even electric models. The Maruti Dzire although fell to second in June has been performing very well in 2026 and is one of the best-selling passenger cars in the country. 
 
As the competition heats up within all categories, the Indian passenger vehicles sector sees very competitive monthly sales rankings. With more variants and features being added, it can be assumed that the fight for supremacy will continue to be tough in the months ahead.
