Tata Tiago EV, Punch EV Waiting Period Rises in August
Tata Motors' passenger vehicle range is seeing significantly different waiting periods in August 2026. While several petrol, diesel and CNG models can be delivered within a few weeks, some electric vehicles are facing considerably longer delays. The Tiago EV and Punch EV currently have the longest waiting periods, with select variants taking as much as 18 to 24 weeks for delivery.
Tata Cars With the Shortest Waiting Periods
Several Tata models can be delivered relatively quickly this month. The Tigor and Altroz have waiting periods of around 1 to 2 weeks across their powertrain options. The Curvv EV is also available within a similar timeframe. The petrol and CNG versions of the Nexon also have a waiting period of approximately 1 to 2 weeks. The Curvv petrol follows the same timeline, while its diesel variants require around 2 to 3 weeks.
Moderate Waiting Periods for Tata Models
The Nexon diesel and Nexon EV currently have waiting periods of approximately 3 to 4 weeks. For the Tiago petrol and CNG, the Smart variants require around 10 to 12 weeks, while other variants have a shorter waiting period of about 4 to 6 weeks. The Punch petrol and CNG Smart variants also have a 10 to 12 week waiting period. Other versions of the Punch can be delivered in roughly 6 to 7 weeks. The Sierra ICE petrol NA Smart variant has a waiting period of around 6 to 8 weeks, while its other petrol and diesel variants have waiting periods ranging from 2 to 6 weeks.
Harrier and Safari Waiting Periods
Tata's larger SUVs show a notable difference between petrol and diesel versions. The Harrier petrol and Safari petrol currently have waiting periods of approximately 10 to 12 weeks. Their diesel versions are available much sooner, with waiting periods of around 2 to 3 weeks. The Harrier EV is also relatively quick to deliver, with most variants carrying a waiting period of approximately 2 to 3 weeks.
Tiago EV and Punch EV Have the Longest Wait
The biggest delays in Tata's portfolio are currently seen on select electric vehicle variants. The Tiago EV Smart 19 and Pure+ 19 variants have a waiting period of approximately 18 to 24 weeks. Other Tiago EV variants are comparatively easier to get, with waiting periods of around 4 to 6 weeks. The Punch EV Smart 30 has a similar 18 to 24 week waiting period, making it one of Tata's slowest models in terms of delivery. The Smart 40 variant has a waiting period of approximately 10 to 12 weeks, while other Punch EV variants require around 8 to 10 weeks. The Sierra EV Pure 65 also has a relatively long waiting period of approximately 12 to 15 weeks. Other versions of the Sierra EV can be delivered within around 4 to 6 weeks.
What Tata's August 2026 Waiting Periods Indicate
Tata Motors' current delivery timelines show that waiting periods vary substantially depending on the model, powertrain and variant. Several ICE and CNG models can be delivered within a few weeks, while select electric models are experiencing significantly higher demand or supply constraints.
The Tiago EV Smart 19, Tiago EV Pure+ 19 and Punch EV Smart 30 currently have the longest waiting periods in Tata Motors' range, at up to 24 weeks. Buyers interested in these variants should therefore check availability with their local Tata dealership before booking, as actual delivery timelines can vary by location and dealer.
