Tata Updates Tiago CNG With Premium Features
The domestic carmaker Tata Motors is all set to launch the facelift version of its best-selling hatchback Tiago in the Indian car market on May 28, 2026. Before its official launch, the carmaker has revealed some of the interesting features that would be offered in the upcoming model. It is reported that the facelift version of the CNG Tiago AMT will receive the paddle shifters and a rotary gear shifter, making the hatchback a technically advanced vehicle in the segment. Both the newly added features are offered for the first time in the segment.

As far as mechanical updates are concerned, the Tiago CNG AMT will continue to come with the existing 1.2-litre naturally aspirated three-cylinder petrol engine. This engine produces around 86hp, while the CNG version generates approximately 75hp. The transmission duties will be performed by a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 5-speed AMT option. Tata Motors is also expected to retain its dual-cylinder iCNG setup, which helps preserve usable boot space.
Speaking about the other features, the notable features offered in the facelift Tiago are the integration of the paddle shifter system in the AMT-equipped CNG model. This feature will allow drivers to manually shift gears without taking their hands off the steering wheel. With this, Tiago became the first hatchback in the segment, overtaking its strong contenders, including Maruti Suzuki Swift, Maruti Suzuki Celerio, and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios.
Inside the cabin, the facelifted Tiago receives a refreshed dashboard layout with a layered design theme. The hatchback is expected to receive a 10.25-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster, dual wireless charging pads, push-button start/stop, and a 360-degree camera system. Tata Motors has also replaced the traditional AMT gear lever with a rotary-style drive selector for a cleaner and more modern cabin appearance.
On the exterior, the 2026 Tiago gets revised bumpers, updated LED headlamps, refreshed tail-lamps, and newly designed alloy wheels. While the overall silhouette remains familiar, the subtle styling updates aim to enhance the hatchback’s road presence. Tata Motors is expected to announce the complete pricing and variant details of the updated Tiago range on May 28, 2026.
