Toyota Corolla Gets Major Makeover In Form Of Sportier Look
With huge expectations, Japanese carmaker Toyota Motor Corp has launched the refreshed version of its best-selling sedan Corolla in native car market with a sportier look, christened as Toyota Corolla Sport. In its new avatar, the Toyota Corolla is believed to grab the attention of generation next buyers. At present, the sedan is mainly loved by mature drivers with an average age around 70 years. Addressing the launch of new Corolla Mr. Yoshiki Konishi, Chief Engineer of the Corolla Sport said, "We're grateful that our older customers have remained loyal to the Corolla”. Moving ahead, he added that the company wants to connect with the youths and wish to target the buyers in the age group of 20-30 years. The new version of Corolla will go on sale in North America and European car markets in 2019.
The new version of Toyota Corolla Sport is a hatchback and not the conventional sedan and embellishes the features like data communication module that collects the data about the driving skills of the driver and forwards the same to cloud-based real-time navigation and technical support. Along with this it also monitors the health of the vehicle and suggests necessary instructions about vehicle service and maintenance.
Anyhow, it would now be interesting to see that the how the Japanese auto giant succeeds in retaining the position of Corolla is greying Japan where the license holders under the age group of 30 years dropped to 22 percent during the last decade and the percent of drivers above 65 years raised to 64 percent.
