Toyota Urban Cruiser Launched With The Price Tag Of Rs. 8.40 Lakh
Toyota Kirloskar Motors, today launched the subcompact SUV Urban Cruiser in the Indian car market with a starting price of 8.40 lakh for the entry-level trim. The top trim has been priced Rs. 11.30 lakh. Both the prices are ex-showroom prices, in New Delhi. The company will start the deliveries of the Urban Cruiser from the middle of October 2020. The subcompact SUV is based on the platform used for developing Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, and the second product developed jointly by the Suzuki and Toyota Motors, after the Glanza hatchback from Toyota. The Toyota Glanza is based on Maruti Suzuki Baleno.
Under the hood, the Urban Cruiser is equipped with a 1.5-liter, four-cylinder K-Series BS6 petrol engine, that is also offered in the BS6 version of Vitara Brezza. The engine develops the power of 103 bhp and the torque of 138Nm. The transmission duty is performed by the five-speed manual gear transmission system. There is also an option of a four-speed torque converter transmission system in the Toyota Urban Cruiser.
Inside the cabin, it almost receives the same treatment as offered in the Vitara Brezza, except the logo of Toyota studded on the steering wheel. The major features offered on the interior front are automatic climate control, push-button engine start/stop as a standard feature. The list of other features includes a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system, that supports connectivity with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth. It also receives an electronic-chromic rearview mirror and a few more. On the safety front, it is equipped with dual-airbags, ABS+EBD, an anti-lock braking system, a rearview camera, rear parking sensors, and ISOFIX child seat mounts as standard features.
Speaking about the exterior, most of the features are outsourced from Vitara Brezza. The common features include a chrome grille, trapezoidal fog lamp, and split LED projector headlamps. After the launch in the Indian car market, the Toyota Urban Cruiser go against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, and recently launched Kia Sonet.
