Mahindra XUV 500 becomes most reputed car, Maruti becomes most reputed car cos: Survey

Mahindra XUV 500 has been acclaimed as the most reputed car by a private news agency in India recently. First it was unprecedented booking in the first phase and overwhelming 25,000 booking application in the second booking phase, the Mahindra XUV 500 seems to have the right DNA of being a big sized Indian SUV. The Cheetah inspired SUV has also influenced the looks of new Mahindra Xylo. The XUV 500 price in India starts at Rs 11.11 lakh and at this price, the Mahindra SUV rivals Tata Safari, Tata Aria besides others.

As per the recent survey, the XUV 500 SUV has been ranked as a car that has gained highest reputation since its launch in September 2011. The news agency has recently started this ranking in Auto sector. Bluebytes News Private Ltd., a leading news agency had surveyed over 75,000 news article published in different newspapers and online media from October last year to the last month and after a study of over 11,000 hours, the XUV has been claimed as the most reputed car. In the same survey Maruti India has been claimed as the most reputed car company. The runner up for the most reputed car was Tata Nano, said a recent media report in India.

The XUV 500 was launched in India with much fanfare and enthusiasm and it did performed the way it has been made for. The initial price was Rs 10.80 lakh and it positioned itself above the Mahindra Scorpio. However, the journey from launch to this juncture was never easy for XUV 500 as it had to closely compete with other segment leaders such as Fortuner from the Toyota fleet, Chevrolet Captiva and another Japanese car Mitsubishi Outlander. Powered by mHawk engine which is a 2.2 L four pot one, the XUV SUV is produced at the company’s Chakan plant and has been indigenously designed in India. It also is a close rival of Force One SUV.
