Now Pay Rs 9,000 More To Buy Maruti Suzuki Baleno
Indo-Japanese carmaker and the country’s leading car manufacturing company Maruti Suzuki India Limited announced a hike in the price of its entire portfolio last month. Now the company has released the updated price list of all its products sold through Arena and Nexa showrooms. Among different models sold by the company, the best-selling premium hatchback Baleno gets the highest price hike of Rs 9,000, based on the variant purchased by the buyer.

Under the hood, Baleno receives power from a 1.2-litre petrol engine boosting the power of 88 hp and 113 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual transmission (MT) and a 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT). The petrol variant with a manual gearbox offers an average of 22.35 kmpl, while the AMT version provides a slightly higher mileage of 22.94 kmpl.
The Baleno is a consistent bestseller in the premium hatchback segment and is offered in four trims namely —Sigma, Delta, Zeta, and Alpha. All these four trims come in different combinations of transmission options and powertrains, including petrol and CNG variants. For environmentally conscious consumers, the Baleno also comes in a CNG-powered variant. This model offers an impressive mileage of 30.61 km/kg, although it is available exclusively with the 5-speed manual transmission.
Speaking about the price hike, buying the Delta AGS, Zeta AGS, and Alpha AGS variants is now Rs 9,000 costlier. The price of other trims is now hiked up to Rs 4,000. As an impact of the recent price hike, the base variant of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno is now priced at Rs 6.70 lakh (ex-showroom price) whereas the top-end variant is now priced at Rs 9.92 lakh (ex-showroom).
Despite the price hike, the Baleno remains competitive in its segment and stands as a strong contender against players like the Tata Altroz and the Hyundai i20. The updated pricing reflects the brand's response to rising input costs and market dynamics while maintaining its strong position in the Indian automotive market.
