Skoda Yeti 4X2 uncovered in India may see an official launch soon

The Czech based automaker has unveiled its renewed Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) Skoda Yeti in India, although a formal launch of this 4X2 off-roader is awaited. The initial model of Skoda Yeti didn’t get to see many buyers with its pricing being a bit on the higher side as compared to its opponents in the same segment.  In the starting months of its first launch in the country it saw a quite decent sale of around 200 vehicles per month, but the existing sales figures have reached to a bare minimum of 50 units per month.

Now with the launch of this revamped vehicle, which costs lesser as compared to the former Skoda Yeti 4X4, it is sure to catch up its estimated sales figures. Also in comparison to the previous vehicle, this 4X2 front-wheel driven SUV is powered by a slightly less powerful motor.

The 2.0L TDI power-train is able to generate 110 bhp at 4200 rpm of maximum power along with maximum torque of 250Nm at 1500 to 2500 rpm. The power-train is coupled with a five speed manual gear box. The new variant has also lost some weight as compared to the earlier Skoda Yeti. The bold Czech beauty is offered a single variant only that is named as Active; while the prior was also offered in Elegance and Ambition variants as well.

Since the formal launched has not been announced by the company and the exact price is not disclosed by Skoda’s dealerships. But a drop of around INR 2-2.5 Lakhs is anticipated in the new 4X2 variant. In the exterior appearance the vehicle looks similar to the former 4X4 variant, although some changes are expected to be made in the interiors of Skoda Yeti 4X2.

The Skoda in India retails its premium sedans Laura, Superb along with recently launched Skoda Rapid and hatchback Fabia.
